XENOPHOBIA IN PERU
What will this blog be about?
We are a group of kids from the San Ignacio de Loyola University who have created this blog for one purpose, which is to report on a social conflict that has gone through our country in recent years, known as xenophobia, our names are Frank Oviedo Ayasta, Nadia Zevallos Valer, Micaela Cortez Alva and Estrella Guimaray Fernandez.
This blog is to make known more deeply what the word Xenophobia consists of, a very worrying problem within society and why it is important to prevent it. Xenophobia is, in general terms, hatred and disgust towards a person of origin other than one's own, generating social problems. This problem is very recent, if we refer to the years, Peruvians have greatly changed their behavior towards many foreigners. The main reason is perhaps the distrust towards ourselves as a Peruvian society, our critical thinking is not strong enough to not only accept, but share our land and its precious benefits. We suffer a conflict of acceptance and inspiration on the part of our nation, and therefore, of the "unknown" people who inhabit it.
Well, Peruvian society is very punctual and envious based on how we have to take care of what is ours. We refer to security, services, work, schools, universities as a serious and important issue. Many countries do not have a good quality of life, so they migrate to different places or countries to achieve a better future for themselves and their family. But xenophobia at home and around the world has made it harder for the foreign community to put down roots anywhere without receiving the hatred of many patriots. This blog will be focused mainly on developing a detailed report on the discrimination that is committed every day against people of Venezuelan origin who live in Peru and who are harmed by this problem. The Peruvian state has taken very few actions to solve this, this problem does not seem to have a solution in any way, thus making it clear that we are at a point where the country presents more problems than solutions.
Turning to a political level, the Executive Power does not give much importance to discrimination against foreigners, the measures that are taken are totally prejudiced and do not adjust to the Venezuelan population, since many of their social, cultural and social rights are violated. economic. The consequences behind this action is that it could lead to their expulsion, since they have no way of defending themselves against the behavior of the population that is alien to the principles that each one has of their homeland. In addition, the rights of foreigners (mainly Venezuelans) become very fragile and flexible with the situation that their own country is going through, what has been said attracts more discrimination, since they are exposed to reaching levels of violence or exploitation towards them.
We as a society must always be alert, since we can solve problems in the future, we say this, because nobody knows what can happen and being treated as Venezuelans are treated, we would not like to, living in a toxic environment of discrimination would not allow us living in freedom in another country, always with the fear of being rejected, empathy in these cases is the most important thing, that will help us grow as a society, xenophobia has no justification in social discrimination.
