Peruvians hatred towards Venezuelans is getting out of hand

There are many Venezuelan immigrants that had to leave their country to seek for a better future for themselves and families because of Nicolas Maduro becoming president and eliminating the purchasing power, which is the ability of buying services and products. A large majority of immigrants came to Peru, because Venezuela helped them in the past when there were politic problems, so in a way Peru needs to return the favor by giving them a free pass to the country, but what is the real reason why they don't want to receive Venezuelans in Peru by complicating their stay so much?

Nationally, the number of Venezuelans increased between 2019 and 2021, reaching more than 1 million at the end of that time and it is stated that 62% of Venezuelan immigrants have received some type of discrimination due to their nationality without doing anything wrong. At the beginning of the politic problem in 2017, if you wanted to come to Peru and work you would not need many documents to enter the country, but after some complaints from Peruvians, severe changes were made that currently make it difficult for Venezuelans to come and receive the help they were seeking for. Xenophobia is a serious problem that is present at many times, and we do not realize it, the country increasingly begins to refuse to help other people just because of the prejudices that are being implanted since little, there are many stereotypes and discriminatory beliefs that makes immigrants excluded from many things that they should be able to do.

Venezuelans are closed to a lot of opportunities, they come to the country focusing on generating money that they can no longer get because of the country they were born in and the situation that is going on there, but Peruvians don’t allow them do what they want, because they don’t care if it is to help their family or their own well-being, Peruvians are just focusing on themselves and what is best for them because of this bad idea they have about Venezuelans. It is said that Venezuelans steal jobs, as several have been appearing to work in many places and leaving "true Peruvians" without opportunities, it is also believed that they only come to take up space because they are blamed of causing more crime, since they come with nothing they supposedly have to steal to survive; and Peru is considered by their citizens to have less security on the streets because of the fear they have of them. The hatred they hold towards Venezuelans is becoming more and more notorious that they even say out loud how they should all just disappear and return to their country. Some Venezuelans no longer want to come, but they still do so because most of their families are here and the opportunities they receive (even if they are small) are ways of generating money in a legal way.

The hate of Venezuelans has become a real problem, not only for Peruvians but for other countries, because they don’t see their perspective and don’t get to think about how they are feeling with having to abandon everything to find better opportunities away from what they have known their entire life. It is necessary to have a good social coexistence to understand the circumstances that Venezuelans are going through, we have no power to judge the people we don’t really know, we are here to create a better society for everyone by respecting and protecting us without depending on our nationality, just focusing on who we really are as a person.
